Chaos addiction

Every addiction is characterized by feeling the urgent need to be in contact with the substance that modifies the state of normality of the body and mind; in the case of chaos it happens in a similar way, although with the variable that the substance that changes behavior is produced by our body. Seen in the dictionary, chaos means disorder and confusion, if we apply it to the matter, it is then about people who need to live in conflict, trouble, misfortune, contradiction and / or anguish. This makes the human brain perceive these situations as threats and secrete substances such as adrenaline and cortisol, the purpose of which is to send emergency signals to the body to act peremptorily and resolve the event on the spot. These substances act as a stimulant; therefore, when normality is achieved, the effects pass and the person is perceived in a kind of "depression"; generating the need to feel stimulated again, becoming involved in the circle of addiction. All the above is what leads an individual to attract or seek difficulties that generate chaos in his life, of course, unconsciously.

Deep down, the individual becomes addicted to adrenaline and cortisol; however, because of this, he develops a chaos compulsion behavior. Let's see some forms of its expression:

1. Go late

It is a behavior of people who are continually in a hurry, are frequently late everywhere, fail to fulfill their commitments; usually, they have hours to go to finish the day. He is the typical person who is distracted and then gallops to get somewhere or perform an activity.

2. Get into debt

Debts, whether with the bank, friends, some type of business, etc., represents that this individual has days to spare to make ends meet, being the prototype of someone unable to say "no" when they offer him something . It is characterized by the disorder in their economy, they go anguished and agitated every term of the month.

3. The dispute

Here we find beings that live seeking dispute or discussion with others, they are in a constant defensive attitude and in an active attack position. Depending on the interlocutor, they may go from verbal to physical aggression. He is the typical person who focuses on the smallest details and is perceived offended by petty gestures, behaviors or words of others.

They are the beings that find a way of living in the disease, they know the names of the drugs, the protocols for action in emergency or serious events, they obsessively read about the various pathologies, even "they know more than the doctor".

5. The tragedy

It is a way of living in excitement, they are individuals who look at the negative or dire side of each situation; they speak, read and think constantly about terrible and catastrophic events and tragic stories that they may be able to materialize in their lives: getting into an accident, getting sick, falling out, etc..

6. Suffering

They are the "free sufferers"; that is, those individuals who carry the problems of others as if they were their own, especially when they do not have one. The latter is similar to a story that the grandparents told about the women they hired in some funerals of people so that they would cry a dead person they did not know; the fact was associated as a sign of "a good burial." Which is an example of the prize that society gave and continues to give (in other ways) to suffering, favoring victimhood in certain people..

7. Fantasy

These are people who recreate in their mind past or future stories or events that they never realized or will ever experience. They evade the present moment with their mental musings. They build images, dialogues and scenes in their minds that they end up believing to be real, in pathological cases. The nuance to differentiate with what it means to dream and aspire, is that these people never work to materialize their fantasies (clear goals).

The compulsion to chaos is an emotional conflict that can lead to misfortune. To overcome it, it is necessary for the person to recognize it and face it; In the first measure it will be enough to order your life, it is as simple as that in the bathroom there cannot be a bed, nor in the kitchen the sink, it is common sense, for example: for those who lack hours of the day, they will need carry and fulfill an agenda, they are beings that when they get up they don't know where to start; For those who get into debt, then organize the economy, doing the accounts with pencil and paper, writing down everything that is spent in the beginning and thus identifying how they use their money, then distributing it and paying the debts, although at first it is only paid . In short, they require commitment to themselves and leave the childish attitude that characterizes them..

A person can present one or more of the forms that we have exposed and even all of them. The relevant thing is to reflect and become aware of the possibility of showing this compulsion and if there is difficulty or impossibility to modify the behavior, I recommend that you go or seek professional help.

There is a film that has inspired me to write this article, in which a typical behavior of compulsion to chaos is shown, which is titled "To the limit of truth." I highly recommend it, if you have been concerned about the issue.
