Problems with your nails? Realize your emotional conflict

Nails are a convex sheet made of layers of a hardened protein called keratin; whose process is called keratinization, which means the hardening of the epidermis.

Evolutionary function of nails

Nails correspond in phylogenetic development to claws; its main function being to protect. Most vertebrates possess them, an animal without nails would hardly survive. They are weapons of defense, attack, they allow to hold the prey, grab or hold, advance and propel. In human beings they perform a similar function, of course, with a different context. Nails protect our fingers and, in turn, hands and feet from dangerous contact, they allow us to hold certain types of objects, many types of tasks would be difficult to perform without nails, for example, cooking, washing, scratching, putting on shoes, etc..

Diseases or conflicts in the nails generally represent lack of protection. They incarnate defense and attack by their evolutionary origin. The location of the symptom defines the essence of the emotional problem that the person presents. The toenails express the relationship with the mother, progress and "mother earth" and those of the hands, the relationship with the father, activity and work. The precision on the type of conflict is determined by the finger to which the nail belongs.

Types of emotional conflicts and nail problems

Next, we will outline a list of disorders and their possible conflicts, not without first emphasizing that each case requires a particular analysis and application:

  • Brittle nails: when the nails break, they manifest a conflict of devaluation and impotence with respect to their own aggressiveness, that is, they experience problems defending themselves, whether it is because I do not want to defend myself, I cannot defend myself, they do not defend me or I cannot defend someone.
  • Onychophagia (nail biting): the person unconsciously experiences disarmament, does not want to attack, the attack is prohibited, is marginalized from the fight. It is a difficulty that frequently begins in childhood and adolescence. It is presumably a child who does not want to defend himself from his father or mother or the representation of authority.
  • Ingrown nails: means an anger, resentment, anger or aggression towards oneself or directed according to its location, for example, in the first toe (big toe) it shows anger, rage or resentment with respect to the real or symbolic mother.
  • Fungi: their presence is linked to death; either real or symbolic, for example: "the death" of a job or an opportunity that ends, a last illusion or hope that vanishes.
  • Parrot-beak nails: characterized in that as they grow they bend inward. This kind of nail can become incarnated with some ease; therefore, we would be talking about the same context as the previous one, with the exception that it is deeper. That is, resentment, rage, anger, resentment. It can also mean a strong attachment or letting go.

In all the cases mentioned, it is necessary to take into account the location, that is, the finger and if it is in the hand or in the foot.

The medical expression of internal diseases through the nails

Nails from a medical point of view express internal diseases of the body. The color, shape and appearance denote phenomena such as malnutrition, febrile processes, the use of drugs, psoriasis, etc..

This part of the body, despite its size, is a window to our physical, mental and emotional state. A symptom or disease in the nail shows us that we need to become aware of a conflict with respect to our defense, that we feel unprotected, devalued or that we do not want to defend ourselves or we feel unable to achieve it.

Remember that feeling attacked from an emotional point of view does not mean that we really are. A person may feel attacked when his boss gives him an order or a parent when his son asks for money, etc. Any action comes to mean an attack the moment the person connects with an event that previously represented him. Continuing with the previous examples, in the first event, it is possible that the individual's father attacked him every time he gave him an order and in the second case, that the person had to work as a child to support his family.

The healing of a symptom or disease in the nails, like any other symptom, requires detecting the hidden emotion that causes the disorder and maintaining a state of conscious attention that allows physical, emotional and psychic healing. In cases of an advanced state of seriousness, medical attention is essential.
