Tell me how you sleep and I'll tell you how you are

The teacher Chris Idzikowsky, Director of the British Sleep Institute, he has analyzed the 6 most common positions that people adopt when we sleep. The results of his study have revealed that each position is identified with a specific type of personality.

Fetal position

They are tough on the outside but sensitive on the inside. They may seem shy when they meet someone but they quickly relax and show themselves as they are. This position is the most common of all: it was adopted by 41% of the 1000 people who were part of the study.

Trunk

It is the position adopted by people who sleep on their side and with both arms extended along their body. They are very sociable people who like to be part of the group. They tend to trust strangers and can sometimes sin of being too gullible.

Speaker

Similar to the trunk position but with both arms extended in front. They are open by nature but can be suspicious at times. They can be slow when making decisions but once they do, they cling tightly to what they have decided and do not change it..

Soldier

People who take this position are usually quiet and reserved. They expect great things both from themselves and from others.

Face down

They are very sociable people who can cope perfectly with new situations. However they can become very nervous and easily touchy. They do not like criticism or extreme situations.

Starfish

They are great friends because they are always willing to listen and offer their help when needed. They don't like to be the center of attention.

In addition to personality types, Professor Idzikowsky also reached several health-related conclusions:

  • The position MOUTH DOWN facilitates digestion.
  • The positions of the SOLDIER Y STARFISH frequently lead to snoring and a bad night.

Finally, the teacher pointed out that it is very difficult to change the sleeping position we are used to. Only 5% of study participants reported sleeping in different positions each night.

And how do you sleep? Can you identify any of these results with yourself or with your partner??
