Walking through life, I will sing along the way, that in joys and sorrows, I met destiny. And he told me: "My life, the best thing, to be yourself, is to look ahead, never lose your way." Amaia Montero.
Today I leave with the lyrics of the song Walking by Amaia Montero when we have the information. The main idea of this song is "to be yourself". On the way of our life we will meet: love, discovery, falls,…. In the thousand and one adventures of our way, I am sure that we will learn to build the path of happiness, with the best version of ourselves.
This is my first post for Psychocode, Before starting, I don't want to forget to thank Isidro Migallón for the opportunity and to all of you who in one way or another will spend a few minutes reading what I write. I also want to thank and congratulate all those who have started or are thinking of starting the path that never ends. Always look for your version 2.0 in everything that happens to you.
Each of the posts that I will write (at least the first ones) will be dedicated to the new version of ourselves. If at any time you have questions about any subject of psychology, you can ask me without fear. As a psychologist I will be happy to answer what you need to know or write about any subject that interests you. Without further ado we begin, with the search for our best version.
First of all I want to remind you of something fundamental: you are brilliant, the most wonderful thing in the world, you are unique, special, resplendent, better than any work of art ... For those who already know, for those who doubt, for those who do not know what that I speak to you, for all, I ask you some questions: Have you ever had an unpolished jewel in your hands? Is it a simple stone? Is it a diamond? Can you see it in your hands? What is that stone that you have been given as a gift? What would you do if do they give you a stone? ...
I invite you to explore the stone you have. With this metaphor I remind you that you are a jewel, what you see in it is yourself. Ask yourself the following question: if I only see one stone, wouldn't I want to be a ruby, an emerald or a diamond? What jewel would you design with that precious stone? What can I do to make it shine with its own light? Have I thrown the stone that they have given me and now I can't find it?
Imagine that you have the privilege of having a diamond in your hands. However, you threw it away believing it was a stone, or even worse, it shone so much that you decided to cover it with mud so that it would not be stolen..
Think for a moment that you are able to see your own light always. The light that makes you unique, special. However, one day you dazzle someone lacking in light and as a consequence they try to turn off your brightness. If that happens don't worry. Nothing and no one can steal or extinguish the diamond that you are. You will be able to polish it and make it shine more than ever. That will be your great triumph. Your version 2.0
You can become happy today and always. However, the road will not be easy and sometimes you will feel like giving up. You will find wonderful people along the way who make you shine and others who try to turn you off.
Whatever your path is yours. The way you see it is what will make you be yourself.
What stone would you like to be?
