What are short, medium and long term goals?
The short, medium and long-term goals are the ends, desires or intentions that both people and organizations put in a given time to achieve their projects.
In a certain way, goals define our personality, and constitute a kind of ideal of what we want to be and achieve in life, and to this extent they guide the actions that are followed over time..
It is the way in which we transform dreams into reality, and that is why short, medium and long-term goals are often called "life projects", as they are based on a specific plan drawn up in time aimed at achieving what we have set ourselves proposed.
On the other hand, they reflect our tastes and illusions, we perfect our skills as we grow to finally strengthen our values (which can change with maturity).
Short, medium and long term goals
Short-term goals
We call short-term goals those that we want to achieve in a short time, such as days or weeks. They are generally the first goals that must be met thanks to the fact that they are almost immediate.
An example could be making an appointment to get our passport, or increasing help at home, or reading an hour a day.
Medium term goals
Medium-term goals are those in which we need more time to achieve them, and they usually take months. They are goals based on short-term ones, but they need a constant effort on our part over time..
An example would be, for example, reading 30 books in 6 months, which means reading every day (at least one hour a day, or more). It is a goal to achieve in a few months, but based on a short-term goal, such as reading daily.
Long-term goals
They are the goals that are realized far in time. They depend on the achievement of short and medium term goals, and the effort is much more sustained and constant. Many times they constitute the conquest of dreams: having a university degree, buying a house, living in another country or starting a family.
An example: receiving me as a mechanical engineer. For this I will have to study weekly (short-term goals), pass each year of high school (medium-term goals, which in turn must meet short-term goals), and then pass each year of the degree.
The short, medium and long term goals depend on many factors, usually personal. As we grow and mature, our goals change, and we adapt them to what we want to achieve..

Short-term goals
Get up an hour earlier to meditate.
Eat five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day.
Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day.
Learn 30 daily words of the language I am studying.
Sowing aromatic plants in pots.
Taking the dog for a walk and choosing different paths to go to the park.
Read two chapters of a book daily to increase reading level.
Reduce the number of hours in front of the TV.
Write a letter.
Make a weekly menu and buy what you need at the market.
Write the pending essay in Spanish.
Put my clothes away when I undress at night: either to the laundry basket or to the closet, folded or hung.
Enroll in college.
Make a weekly planner for daily tasks.
Update my CV.
Find a job and submit my CV.
Start the gym.
Attend a yoga class to get a taste of what it's like.
Remodel my room.
Giving away clothes that no longer serve me or do not use.
Medium term goals
Open a savings account and start saving 10% of my salary.
Read 60 books in a year, and of all kinds: novels, essay books, history, etc..
Pass the semester subjects with good grades.
Eat a healthy diet and lose weight for the summer.
Up one level every six months in the language I study.
Thoroughly clean the floor once a month.
Assemble a web page.
Write a storybook.
Take a cooking, programming, or restaurant management course.
Learn a manual skill, such as sewing, or doing small repairs at home.
Get involved with the community: attend meetings with neighbors and learn about common problems.
See at least 20 classic movies in six months.
Learn about plastic arts; visit the museums of my city.
Install a small vegetable garden (if I do not have a garden, in pots on the balcony).
Increase my physical capacity with strength training and cardio exercises.
Raise my academic index with better grades.
Increase my body flexibility with yoga classes 3 times a week, in a period of 6 to 8 months.
Prepare for a marathon.
Start a small food business.
Take a WordPress course for my website.
Long-term goals
Pass the baccalaureate.
Enter university.
Receive me as an engineer, doctor, philosopher (achieve the degree of the career that I have studied).
Maintain weight and a healthy diet throughout life.
Maintain physical activity over time.
To buy a floor.
Specialize in my career (do master's and postgraduate degrees).
Being a manager in an important company at a national or international level.
Write a novel.
Set up a business and make it grow and maintain itself in a minimum period of 5 years.
Fully master two languages, in addition to the mother tongue (read, write and speak perfectly in all three).
Keep my personal finances solvent and pay all my debts.
Start a new career.
Run for councilman and win the elections.
Get to know all my neighbors in my building.
Make or collaborate in a foundation to help immigrants to integrate into society.
Visit a different country every year, which is on a different continent than where I live.
Expand the house or remodel the floor.
Form a family.
Recognize biases in thought and language and eliminate them.
