A cautionary tale The Carpenter's House

Despite the fact that he had many years ahead of him, the carpenter decided to retire early. After a lifetime of doing great jobs, she thought it was time to spend more time with her family.

He communicated the decision to his boss and he felt very sad. He didn't want to lose one of his best men so soon. Still, he accepted his decision on the sole condition that he did one last job.. He commissioned him to build a wooden house.

The carpenter accepted the job and went to work. However, his head was elsewhere. In his thoughts he was already enjoying retirement and free time with his family. Throughout his life he had put his heart into each and every one of his jobs. Now her heart was elsewhere.

He wanted to finish building the house as soon as possible and he wasn't taking care of the details. Charge low quality materials to receive them quickly. He only built the necessary meters for the house, not one more.

After several weeks of work, he called his boss and informed him that the work was finished. Your boss paid you the agreed amount and gave him some keys. The surprised carpenter asked where they were from. His boss replied that those keys opened the house he had just built and that it was the gift he wanted to give him for a lifetime of good jobs by his side. The house he had just built was for him and his family to live.

Conclution

You are the carpenter of your own life. It does not matter that at this time you cannot see what the benefit of your efforts will be. If you try hard, sooner or later you will get a reward.

Recently a friend told me literally that there are days when he works like a donkey and yet other days he limits himself to doing the right thing. Still, the result is the same: the indifference of his boss.

I personally believe that in this life there is a kind of balance law. I think that whatever effort you make, in the end it will come back to you in one way or another. It may not come in the form of a pat on the shoulder or that raise you want so much.. It may not even be your boss who ends up rewarding you for your effort..

But eventually someone will understand the value of what you are doing. It can be an unknown person or even yourself. If you make an effort in your daily work, you will be better every day. By putting in effort you can even become better than your boss and stop needing him to earn a salary.

Don't stop trying.
