The story goes that, in ancient times, a very wise great teacher once visited a temple where a young monk was waiting for him and was going to guide him along the way. Inside that huge cold temple there were three dogs guarding him.
Although they were chained to a post, the image of those black dogs barking furiously, with those sharp teeth and with their gaze fixed on them, made the wise man worry and with a certain fear asked the young man if it was safe to pass that way..
The latter, confident by the resistance of the chains, nodded. In one of the strong attacks that the rabid dogs gave, the support that held the chains to the pole gave way and they were free of all restraint. Within seconds the dogs, with bloodshot eyes, were running at high speed towards the two unwanted visitors..
Fear made the young man white. He had been totally paralyzed. The teacher, as soon as he saw that the dogs were heading towards him with anger, instead of running away or being paralyzed by fear, he did something very curious: he looked the dogs in the eye and began to run directly towards them. Imagine the scene: three rabid dogs running towards the sage and he, on the other side of the temple, running with all his energy towards the dogs.
Then something interesting happened: the dogs had never seen anything like it, and when they saw that man running towards them they started to flee. The wise man returned to the boy, smiled at him in a friendly manner and said: "always run towards your fears"
Teachings: face your fears because when you do, they will surely vanish. In short, the best way to act in the face of most of the fears that haunt us today is to face them decisively.
